From James Jasin (unpublished)
Amsterdam June 5th. 1785
Sir.

The moment of my arrival I made the necessary inquiry respecting the America ship which I informed You was expected here about this time, but found she had not arrived. At present we look for her every moment; and no doubt within ten day she will appear.

Should the mode of your going to America not yet be determined, and should the vessel alluded to appear to your Excellency the most eligible, I will with great pleasure make your proposall to the Captain and gentleman on board who has the direction of her, as soon as you may think proper to give me your commands for that purpose.

There are several American Vessels here at present, for Phila., Njork and Boston—within two or three weeks, one will sail for the first of those parts. With great respect Believe me to be Your Excellency’s Most Obedient and Very humble Servant
