Dear Sir

We cannot by any means find out in what manner we have disposed of the following Bill which we receiv’d from Philadelphia in the Year 1781—viz:

F Hopkinson on the Commissioners of the United States, No. 249. at thirty days sight in favor of Jno. Sparhawk for 600 Dollars.— We therefore make it our particular request that you will cause enquiry to be made and inform us whether said Bill has been paid or not, & if paid, we beg you will transmit us a Copy of the Indorsments on it.—we request you will excuse our giving you this trouble, & believe us to be with great respect— Dear Sir Your most hble Servt.
