Dear Sir

I beg leave to introduce to your Excellency the revd. Mr. Hilliard, a worthy clergyman of Cambridge, and his Friend Mr. Thomas Lee of the same town. As they intend going to Philadelphia, they requested a Line of introduction, to give them the honour and pleasure of paying their respects to a Gentleman, whose character they highly revere. With the most affectionate regards, I have the honour to be, my dear Friend, your Excellency’s most obedient humble Servant.
