William Temple Franklin to Jonathan Williams, Jr. (unpublished)
Passy 31 March 1781
My dear Friend,

It is long since I have had the Pleasure of hearing directly from you. You are notwithstanding much in my Debt, having wrote you several Letters lately, which I sent to L’Orient thinking they would meet you there. I suppose they have been forwarded to you.

Inclosed is a Copy of a Letter my Grandfather lately received from M. Necker, relative to your Memoire.

I sent you a few Days past, by M. Bougogne, 2 Packetts containing Dispatches for America, which you are requested to put on Board some Vessel bound thither. When you recieive said two Packetts I beg you would mention it in one of your Letters to my Grandfather or self. We are very anxious concerning Mrs. Williams and desire you would let us know from time to time what Progress she makes in her Convalescence.

I am etc.

We had a Letter of the 26 of last Month from M. Benoi Huguier at Orleans, relative to your Press, we did not answer it supposing you had done the necessary.

My Grandfather wishes to know whether you ever sent the Things, he desired you would, to Mrs. Mecome: and by what Vessel they went.
