Sir

I received the Letter with which your Excellency was pleased to honor me dated the 9 Ins in answer to the complaint I had the honor to lay before your Excellency against Cap Edward Macatter Commander of the Black Princess Privateer in behalf of Capt. McIsaac master of a Merchant Ship. As I only act for the concerneds in that Ship and her Cargo I have communicated the import of your Excellency’s Letter to my constituents and shall wait their ultimate orders before I make application for Redress to any of the French Courts of Law. That I may not however transgress any further upon your Excellency’s Politeness in taking charge of the Papers I presume to request the favour your Excellency will order them to be directed for me at the house of Messrs. Girardot Haller & Co Bankers at Paris to whome I write this evening on the Subject.

I have the honor to be Sir Your most obedient and most faithfull humble Servant
