During the time of the late Revolution among other Letters received from your Excellency, I well remember to have been favoured with one, introducing to my acquaintance and kind Offices the bearer hereof Mr. John Francis De Beyerle, founded if I remember right on some Recommendation of his Excellency Monsieur Gerard who had been Embassador to the United States. The bearer hereof enquired of me if I could lay my hand on it, I answered I could not, as it was I beleive packed up with others, which for want of time, as I’m about setting off for New York I can not search for. Wishing your Excellency every temporal as well as everlasting bliss I take the Liberty of subscribing myself Your Excellency’s most obedient humble servant
