Sir

I have your esteemed favour of the 9th. Ulto. And agreeable to your desire applied with Mr. Robert Temple at the Board of Sick and Hurt, who gave for answer that no exchange of Prisoners Immediately from Boston to England could be admited, nor would they Exchange us by Receipt as you expected. I therefore beg to know if we were to go to France and Surrender ourselves to your Excelly. whether or not we could be Exchang’d there, so as to Cancell our Parole as geting that effected would give us the Greatest Pleasure, for hard as our case is we are determined to abide by our Agreement. We therefore pray your Answer on this Subject I am for Willm. Stewart James Campbell, Marcus McCausland and Self With Respect and Esteem Your most Obedient verry Humble Servant

Conolly McCausland
