Thomas Barclay to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
lorient 4th April 1785
Dear Sir

I had the pleasure of receiving your letter addressed to me at Bordeaux

I Cannot Exaitly say when I shall have the happiness of seeing you but will be in the Course of this Month unless some Unexpected Delays detain me—The China ware which I sent Round by water to the Care of Mr. Garvey of Rouin was detain’d there for want of some paper from him, which has been sent, and therefore I flatter myself is now reach’d you long ago—On the other side is Copy of the Cost of the Tea and China amounting to 184..5..0 to which I am to add some small Expence for your proportion of a Chest and Packing—If you will be so good to Pay Mrs. Barclay 200 livs. the Account will be settle—

Believe Me with great Affection My Dear Sir Yours

Thos Barclay

Let me Inform you my Good friend that my only business at Paris will be to settle the remainder of the public Accounts, and that I hope the Copy of your Bill Back, which you were so kind as to promise me may if possible be ready Either that copy or an Inspection of the original being absolutely Necessary for the adjustment of some the Accounts
