Jonathan Williams, Jr. to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Nantes March 27. 1780
My dear Billy.

The uncertainty of my Accts which I sent in Capt Samson being arrived & the Opportunity of the Marquis de la Fayettes Departure has induced me to part with the second & only Copy I had left, I shall therefore take it as a favour if you will employ a Clerk at my Expence to copy those which are lodged with the Doctor and then get them certified by him in the same manner the last were done this will give you trouble but when you consider how important it is to me I know your Friendship will excuse it.—

Don’t forget the Commission for Coggeshall.— I am ever sincerely Dear Billy your affectionate kinsman
