William Temple Franklin to Jared Ingersoll (unpublished)
Passy. 19 Feby. 1781.
Dear Sir.

I received the Letter you did me the honour of writing to me the 23 of July last: Your library which you mention to have left in England and ordered to be sent here to my address, has never come to hand. Not knowing the Persons name in whose Care you left it, I have not been able to write to England concerning it; which otherwise I should have done. You may rely on my Care in forwarding it if ever it should arrive here.

Permit me to introduce to your Acquaintance & Civilities the bearer of this letter, Mons: Le Veillard, a very deserving young Man, who goes to Philadelphia with a Prospect of being employed by the French Consul General.

With great Respect, I am Dear Sir. &ca.—
