Benjamin Franklin Bache to Richard Bache (unpublished)
Passy 9bre 11th 1784
Dear Papa,

I received your Letter of the 10th of September. I am now learning to cast types and am casting a set of types which amounts to 43120. My Cousin is at London but is soon expected to be on his return. My Grandpapa is well and I hope he will be able to go to America next Summer he has only to walk form his house of Passy to the river and that is a quater of a Mile, and from the port of Philadelphia to his house the rest of the Voyage he can do by water which is an easy Way by following the Stream of the river and crossing the Ocean. I send you a Specimen of my drawing which I still continue to learn.

I am my dear Papa Your most Dutiful Son

B. F. Bache

Excuse my scribling. My love to all my brothers and Sisters.
