Ship Union at Burgen Septr. 14th. 1779
Honourable Sir

I have the pleasure of informing you of my arrival here at Burgen at Norraway in a prise Ship from London bound to Quebec which twenty two Guns Load with naval Stores which was taken by the Alliance Frigate.

Peter Landes Esqr. Commander, I arrived here the Twelfth Inst. and another Prise taken by the Alliance of seventy two Guns Load with Provisions, burden about three hundred tons which we both ly here before the Town of Burgen.

I have this day made a report to the French Counsoler by which I am received very kindly and by the best Gentlemen in Town.

I would be glad of your advices in what manner I shall proceed conserning the people that is on Board here belonging to the Alliance.

I would acquaint you of one Mr. Danchent         a very worthy Gentleman and a great friend to America. I have paid my respects to him and he will be of great service to me here. I have the Honour to be Your most Obedient Servant
