Ever Dear and Honoured Papah

I have long with great Impatience waited in hopes, that you had not Totally forgot one that you Once Honered with the Tender Appellation of Child! and Flattered my Self that the Multiplicity of your Buisiness, when in France had prevented my Receiving any Answer, to my two last Letters, to you, but now you have got so much Nearer Home, and I hoped Enjoy’d a little more Leasure, I cant but Confess I am greatly Chagrin’d at not Receiving one Line from you, in so long a Time, who Use’d to be Hond, with a Letter almost every Post; did I find any abatement in the Tender affection I ever had for you, this Coldness, would not so Sencibly affect me, but Suffer me my Dear Sir, to Intreat you, to let me know if I have any way offended you, and what part of my Conduct has Disobliged you, that I may if Possible, make some Atonement, for beleive me Sir I cannot part with that Kind, that Flattering, Regard, you once Favour’d me with; but with the greatest Regrett, and the most Ardent desier to know the Cause, that has Rob’d me, of so Rich a Jewell, as I Esteem your affection, and beleive me Sir when I declair to you I am Totally Ignorant of the Cause. No one had a Learger Shear in the Universell Joy of your Return, No one more sincerely Lamented your Ill state of Health, then your poor Neglected Girl and I could not withstand the Temptation of once more Intruding on your Indulgence, when Sollicited by a near Neighbour, and a very Worthy Man for a Letter, but with Pleasure Imbraced the Opportunity of Engquiring after your Health, as that of your Family, which will be ever Dear to me, and to whome I beg you to present my affectionate Regards.

Accept of the Respectfull Regards of Mr. and Miss Partridge and beleive me Dear Sir, with Sincere Wishes that Health, and Happiness may attend you. Your affectionate Neice

Eliza. Partridge
