Not having heard from you since mine of the 14th. of last Month (which was in ansr. to yours of the 23 Decr. 80) I begin to fear it did not reach you, & that you think me neglectful. I do not however send you a Copy of it, together with its Contents, for fear I should put you to a useless Expence of Postage; but if you have not recd. the Original, I beg you will let me know it, & I will immediately replace it: which will I hope, regain me your Friendship, if my apparent inattention to your Commands has diminish’d it.—
