Jonathan Williams, Jr. to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Nantes April 10. 1781.
My dear Billy,

I acknowledge myself much in your Debt and I will pay you soon, if not by Letter perhaps I may in person.

If the Doctor desired me to ship anything for Mrs. Mecom I have shamefully forgotten it, and deserve his Displeasure, but I can find nothing about it in any of his Letters. Pray let me know by the return of Post what the articles are and say nothing about the matter ’till I inform you of having shipped them by Capt. Barnes who will sail hence in the active. I inclose a few Bills which please to return to me accepted.

I am ever most sincerely and affectionately yours

Jona. Williams
