Dear Kinsman

In answer to your Request that I would say whether I did or not receive of Messrs. Bache & Shee Damages on the Bill of 25000 Livres which I took up for them at Paris, I hereby acquaint you, that tho’ I suffered considerable Damage at the time by making the Use of my Money, I have never demanded or received any Recompence or Allowance for the same.
