(I have sent you the accot &c &c) I have spoke to my grandfather as you desired relative to yr project of going to America in the spring. His answer is this; that he could not advise you to take a step of such importance which he was not sure wd. be approved of by yr Father—That if yr father was willing you shd go, he my grandfather wd furnish you with letters of recommendation. This being the case, I have not forwarded the letter you sent me for yr father let me know whether you wish me to do it or whether you’ll write another; if you obtain his permission be assured nothing shall be wanting on the part of my grandfather & self to render yr. Residence in America as agreeable as possible. I am &c yours
