William Knox to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Nants 2 May 1782
Dear sir

As there is some probability that my Friends may take the liberty of Lodging Letters at Passy to my Address you would confer an additional favor to the many for which I am indebted to you, if in that case you would have them sent to Messieurs Van den Yvre Frere & Co. Bankers, in Rue Royale Butte St. Roch, who will be acquainted with my wishes relative to the disposal of them. I was sorry to have left Paris so soon by two or three days, from which circumstance the pleasure was precluded me of seeing my Amiable masque, the only consolation in that case for me is that I have so much the more pleasure to participate in my future visit to Paris. Be pleased Sir to make a tender of my most Respectful Compliments to Doctor Franklin, and to receive at the same time the assurance of my being with very sincere esteem and Attachment Your Most Obliged and Obedient Servant

W. Knox.
