From Jonathan Williams, Jr. (unpublished)

Honoured sir.

Feb. 19. 1788.

It appears to me that Mr. Thomas has very well acquitted me, and very well answerd himself. A Bill of Exchange has been remitted in full; if he doubts the fact, or if he supposes the Bill to have been intercepted; it will be easy to detect the deception (if there be one) by seeing the Bill in the hand of the Banker on whom it was drawn: Perhaps it may not be amiss to send him a third Bill if one remains on hand. I am as ever yours dutifully and affectionately

J Williams
