Dear Sir

As I propose setting out for England this evening you will infinitely oblige me by immediately expediting a passport for me, and another for Mr. Vernon—I request they may be separate on account of the indecision of that Gentleman with respect to this excursion.

If this your mediation I could obtain letters of introduction from his Excellency your Grand father to Gentlemen in England, you would both add one more to the many instances of politeness which I have received from you, and which I am flattered to acknowledge—
