Dear sir

Yours of the 17th. March came to hand for which Accept my Thanks, am pleas’d at the Prints Affording you & Grandfather Pleasure, these English folks are a Curious set of beings, their print shops are full of their Abuses of their Great. they care but Little about it if they devide ye. Loaves & fishes. I thank for your Care of the Letters I Inclos’d you. have you any News from America, if so pray be so kind as to drop me a Line, many Adventurers from hence to America, Mr. Fox has propos’d in the House to put ye. King in Power to Receive American Vessell & permit Americans to proceed for America & on the Same footing we did in 1763. till a General Comercial Treaty takes place which he says will get thro this week. pray will or is it in the power of Your Grandfather or any Sett of men at Paris to give American papers for a Ship bought here by an American, be so Obliging as to Enquire & Inform me & Excuse me for troubling you. Business here prevents my having the Pleasure of seeing you soon. The bearer will deliver you some of the last papers. I had the Pleasure of dining with your Father a few Days past who Acted the Child & Father by most Afectionately Enquiring after The Health & happiness of his parent & as a Tender Father, the Happiness of his Son. he is in perfect health & Good Spirits, his Acquaintance is well worth Cultivating & shall Endeavor to be much in his Company my best wishes for Your, & Grandfather Ease & happiness
