To — Wilke (unpublished)
Philada. May 7. 1788
Sir,

I embrace with Pleasure this good Opportunity of complying with the Orders of our Philosophical Society, in transmitting to yours the second Volume of their Transactions, which they hope may be acceptable. I send with it the first Volume, which though intended at the Time of its Publication, was then unaccountably omitted, and the Troubles of our Country coming on soon after, deranged and suspended all the Operations of the Society till since the Peace. With great and sincere Esteem I have the honour to be Sir, Your most obedient and most humble Servant
