To David Hartley (unpublished)
Philada June 4, 1789
Dear Friend,

I send with this Line a few of our late News-papers. You will see by them that our New Government is in Train; and by the Advertisements that we abound in Merchandise from all Parts of the World, so that it is plain we have either Money or Credit, notwithstanding the Reports in the British Papers. Being in pain I cannot now add but that I am ever Yours most affectionately
