My Grandfather directs me to acknowledge the Receipt of your Letter of the 1 Novr. last, as likewise of the three Copying Machines &ca. the Acct. of which was contained in your letter & amounted to £24:14: Sterg. So that there remains in your Hands a small Ballance due to him. We found every Article specified in the little Blue Book, except the wetting & drying Books, of which there were none to either of the three Machines. This Dificiency my Grandfather requests you would supply, & send him at the same time, a Ream of the improved Patent Copying Paper Twelve papers of Ink Powder four of the largest oil’d Papers & four of Messrs: Wedgewood & Bentleys Fountain Ink Pads. The Bearer of this Letter, who returns to this Place in a short time, will perhaps take charge of the above articles; if so, you will be so good as to have them carefully packed & deliver them to him, but if he finds the Packet too bulky to take Charge of, them you will send it by the way of Ostend, addressed to Messrs: Bowers & Co: & in you letter of advice to those Gentlen. request them to forward it to B. F. at Passy. If you can find a Private Opportunity of sending those Things, it is to be preferred.

The amount of your Advances shall be immediatly remitted to you, on your informing me of the Sum. I am, Sir, Your obedt: & very humble Servant
