Jno Vaughan

pray give my affectionate respects to the Doctor who is I hope in good health & mention that being the other day at Segovia I was agreeably Surprised by the sight of a Conductor upon the powder magazine of the Military School. It was erected a few days since by the permission of the Governor Mr Le Compte de Lacy at the desire of one of his officers—The Clergy were of consequence Somewhat offended, as it was retiring from the Confidence they put in their patrons & Saints—I believe it to be one of the first in Spain, the spot very subject to thunder Storms, being at the Mouth of a horseshoe of hills—
