Honourable Sir

Tis with the Greatest Concrn that I find By the honour of your Letter of the 8th. you Coudnt Comply With my request as to your Commission I Begged of your honour; my disappointment in that is of the Greatst Consequence, as I Have Been put to a Very Great Expence, in fitting out my Sloop on purpose of Crouising; But Being frustrated in my Expectation I am determinid to Sail out strait for new England under dutch Colours, in Hopes the united States Will Grand me the desired Commission; and as I think I cant Suceed Better thant By your honour protection I do now Request you Woud Be pleased to Send me a Letter of recommendation to the Honourable Congress and if you Shoud Have Some packet   its members, you may with the Greatest Safety Send em to me, as your Honour may Be Assured that I Shall deliver your dispatchs With the Greatest punctuality, and hope very speedily, as my vessell is on of the Best Sailing Ships I ever knew I Shall differ my Sailing out till the midle of next month, So that your Honour Will have time to Write to me, if you are pleased to Grant me the favour. I am With the Greatest Respect your most humble servant Honourable Sir
