From Benjamin Bristow (unpublished)
Hotel Danemarck, Rui Jacob, Paris, June 26, 1778

Mr Benj. Bristow (who has the pleasure of being known to Mr Wm. Lee late of London Merchant—) begs leave to present his most respectful compliments to Dr. Franklin, and entreats the favor he will honor him with the Address of Mr Samuel Adams— having just received a letter from England requesting he would make an enquiry of him relative to the family of an American Lady, now in London, with whose father Mr Adams was formerly very intimate. Mr Bristow would not have taken this liberty with Dr. Franklin, but having fail’d in every enquiry after Mr Adams, and being extremely anxious to ease the Lady’s mind, he hopes the Doctor will admit these as a sufficient apology for the same.

Addressed: A Monsieur / Monsieur Franklin &c &c &c a Passey.
Endorsed: Benjn. Bristow 26. June 1778.
