William Pyne to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Princeton Febry 9th. 1786
Dear Sir

I had the pleasure to receive both your Letters of the 5th and 7th Inst. and assure you that no inconvenience to me can be the result of defering our meeting. On Tuesday last I named our Correspondence to Col. Morgan and the appointment at Burlington. He inquired the particulars and as I conceive him to be a Friend to both Parties I did not Hesitate to give him the fullest information. He then said he had wrote to you and invited you to Princeton and wished me to permit him to renew the invitation and have you here before I saw the Farm, he started several thoughts which did not occur to me, indeed from his general knowledge and capability of advising he seems a very proper person to be present at an agreement like ours. Reluctantly I consented to his writing because of the Trouble it would occasion you and [torn] imagined was too solicitous about my Health, but [torn] had the greatest weight with me was, that in case [torn] was wanting but my approbation of the Farm he would accompany us to the premises and we could view them and discuss every Matter upon the Spot. should you Judge this Unnecessary and prefer my seeing the place first I will wait on you at Philadelphia and go from thence for I understand the roads are bad after you get to Trenton and the accomodations far from good at the Inn, if I go by the other Rout is is possible to return and Sleep at Philadelphia again the same Night.

I request an answer to this Letter by return of Post and that shall determine me. I have the Honor to be with Sincere respect and Esteem Your most devoted Humble Sert.

Wm. Pyne
