L’Orient 19th July 1780
Dear Sir

As I have concluded to proceed to America in the Brigg Duke of Linster, & benefit of the protection of the Ariel, being certain Captain Jones must now be ready in ten or twenty days.—The intent of this, Serve merely to mention it to you in case You may have any Commands, as You May believe I shall take pleasure to Serve you if I have the good fortune to get safe home.—

Pray have you had any Late accounts of litle Benjamin Bache?—I shall be glad to know if he is well, as his Father & Mother may be pleased to hear of him.—I am most Sincerely Dear Sir Your friend & obedt: servant
