The sincer dezire I Have of Being, in some what usefull To the united states of americas, the Great Expence I Have Been att, on that purpose, in fiting out my ship the Congress sloop, Who is, this moment Ready to sail out, oblige me to Renew my Request to you, that your Honour may Be pleased to Grant me a Commission from the Lords of the States of americas, the Prospect of my Expedition, [which?] the I took the Liberty of sending to your honour the 11th. of Last month, and my Being a true Born Canadien, Whose all Relations are actually fighting under the american colours, imbolden me to hope that your Honour Wont Refuse my Patriotical Request. I am With the Greatest Respect Honourable Sir your most humble obedient servant
