From Jonathan Williams, Jr. (unpublished)
Boston Jan. 9 1786
Dear and hond Sir.

Since my return hither I have met with an English Paper, wherin I see my Correspondent Mercator has answered my last Piece which I shew you on Sea. I could not resist the Itch of Scribbling again, so I answered him, and on showing it to a Friend he asked to have it printed with the preceeding Pieces. I send them inclosed for your Inspection; but you must always expect in reading anything from my Pen to read yourself over again, for I am indebted to your frequent and friendly Conversations for my best Ideas.

I wait your consent to have the maritime Pamphlet read at the next meeting of our Society, which will be this last Wednesday in the Month: Mr. Boudoin wishes it much.

I beg you will pardon my haste. Make my affectionate Remembrance acceptable to all the Family.

With many and most Sincere wishes for your Health and Comfort during this and suceeding Years. I remain most dutifully and affectionately yours

J Williams
