French textile firm.
Proposed to provision the American troops with supplies and uniforms at a savings of 10-15 percent (1779). Furnished Commodore Alexander Gillon of South Carolina with supplies.
The firm enjoyed the confidence of the comtesse de Vergennes. Lamarque later turned to the comtesse’s husband, the comte de Vergennes, and to Franklin after Gillon failed to pay his bills (1781, 1782).
