Privateer captain and naval officer.

During the American Revolution McNeill commanded several privateers, most famously the General Mifflin. He later became an officer in the United States Navy and served in the Barbary War.

Born in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Married Mary Cuthbertson in 1770, and Abigail Harvey in 1772; issue by the second marriage.
