American agent.

Sent to France, the Netherlands, and England by the committee of secret correspondence (December 1775). Sailed to Le Havre; dawdled in Paris for several weeks on the excuse that he had never seen the opera. Met Dumas and explained that he had brought with him drafts on the British government and was impatient to be off to England to collect (April 1776); traveled to London and then returned to America. Possibly the Thomas Story who was later charged with treason, but eventually released (c. 1779)

Reputedly Irish. Resided in Philadelphia.
