Merchant, brother of Richard Bache.

A native of Settle, Yorkshire, England, Bache moved to New York in 1751. For a time prior settling in Philadelphia, Richard Bache was a partner in Theophylact’s mercantile firm.

Although a Loyalist during the Revolutionary War, Bache remained in America until his death.

Married Ann Dorothy Barclay in 1760; 15 children.
