Salm-Kyrbourg, Frédéric, prince de

Belgian army officer.

Captain (1764), major (1767), and colonel (1772) in the Dutch army; later transferred to the French service. Built a magnificent Parisian hôtel that subsequently housed the Legion of Honor. Executed in the French Revolution.

Son of Philippe-Joseph, prince de Salm- Kyrbourg et du Saint-Empire, and Marie- Thérèse-Josèphe (de Hornes) de Salm- Kyrbourg. Married a Hohenzollern princess; had issue.
