Manager of Philadelphia Silk Filature (1770-74).

Probably the same Benjamin Morgan who was read out of the Philadelphia meeting for marrying a non-Quaker (1772), was elected to the American Philosophical Society (1774), and was a manager of the Philadelphia Almshouse (1776). Resided on Arch St. before the Revolution; evidently took in boarders. May have been the iron merchant named Benjamin Morgan who was living on South Front St. in 1791.
