Councillor at the court of Pfalz- Zweibrücken (1749). Cabinet minister (1751). Minister plenipotientiary to Paris (from c. 1756). Ennobled (1759). Secret legation councillor (1765, 1769-70). Also represented the courts of Hessen-Kassel (1764-1770) and Hessen-Darmstadt (from 1771) in Paris.

Son of Johann Georg Pachelbel. Married Maria Philippina Ehrmann; five children.
