With his brother Matthew, received blank letters of marque for privateers to be bought and outfitted in Europe (1776). Involved in a scheme to transport property from Ireland to America (1780). Traveled to France, carrying Philadelphia newspapers for Franklin (May- June 1780).
Born in Strabane, Ulster. Brother of John, James, and Matthew Mease of Philadelphia Samuel Wharton referred to him as “Mr. Robert Mease of Alexandria in Virginia.”
