Morgan, John, Jr.

New Jersey army officer and gentleman farmer.

Ensign in U.S. army (1790); accompanied St. Clair expedition to the Northwest Territory (1791). Managed “Prospect,” the Morgan family estate in Princeton, New Jersey.

Son of George and Mary (Baynton) Morgan. Nephew and principal heir of Dr. John Morgan of Philadelphia. Educated at Princeton. Married Margaret Bunyan (1794); nine children.
