Burnside, James (1708-1755)

Member of the Pennsylvania Assembly (1752-55).

Received a civil appointment in Charleston, South Carolina (1744). The following year he moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he owned a plantation.

Born in County Meath, Ireland. Left Ireland for Georgia (1734). Settled near Savannah. Married Margaret Bevan in 1736, had issue; married Mary Peterse Wendover (a widow) in 1745.
