Served on either the Dalton or the Charming Polly. Captured and committed to Mill Prison (June 1777). Exchanged (December 1778). Subsequently served under John Paul Jones. Captured (1779) and committed to Forton Prison.

Native of Kittery, Maine. Name also spelled “Mahoney.”
