Cooper of the Rising States.

Captured aboard the Massachusetts privateer Rising States (April 1777) and committed to Forton Prison at Gosport, England (June 1777), but soon escaped. Later joined two fellow crewmen, Francis Abbott and Daniel Dana, in Cherbourg.
