Maryland shipowner.
Resided at Chestertown, Kent County, across the bay from Annapolis; also owned land in Kingston. Owned several ships; may have traded as a merchant. Active in St. Paul’s Parish as churchwarden (1756) and vestryman (1759, 1767). Served on a committee to oversee the construction of a vestry house (1761), furnished bricks for a new church building (1767, 1771), and was commissioned to raze the old church and remove the rubble (1770).
