Boston merchant and civic leader.
Entered father’s mercantile house and gradually took over the business. Held many civic and church offices, including warden, selectman, overseer of the poor, and deacon; also served on numerous town committees. Harvard College Treasurer (1777). Founding member and first treasurer of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; charter member of the New Society for the Propagation of the Gospel.
Son of Captain Ebenezer and Mary (Edwards) Storer of Boston. Educated at Harvard (B.A. 1747). Married Elizabeth Green (1751); four children. After her death, married Hannah (Quincy) Lincoln (1777); three children.
