First Schwenkfelder to come to America (1731). With his brother David, acquired 260 acres of land in Upper Hanover Township, Pennsylvania (1736). Moved to Frederick County, Maryland, before 1757 and purchased land there.
Son of George and Anna (Hübner) Scholtze. Married Elizabeth —; six children. Named also spelled “Scholtz” or “Schultz.”
