Typefounder.

Eldest son of the famous typefounder Pierre- Simon Fournier le jeune. Inherited his father’s foundry (1775).

Franklin ordered from the foundry a font of type to be shipped to the United States (1778). Worked with Franklin in developing the type “le Franklin,” used by Franklin at his Passy press (1781). Commissioned a miniature of Franklin (1780).
