South Carolina politician.

Delegate to the Continental Congress (1778-79); served on its Commerce Committee. Returned to South Carolina (1779). Served in the state assembly until the capture of Charleston, after which he was arrested by the British.

Following the war, he was heavily involved in South Carolina politics and was a judge of the state’s equity court.
