Chemist, physicist, and apothecary. Received maître apothicaire at Paris (1761). Demonstrator in chemistry at the Collège de Pharmacie. Taught physics and chemistry at the Collège de la Manche and at the Collège de Tours. Apothecary to the King (1781). Professor at the Museum of Natural History (1793). Served as a pharmacist to the French troops during the French Revolution.
Author of Tableau analytique des combinaisons et des décompositions des différentes substances (Paris, 1779).
Born in Paris. Brother of the architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart.
