Brother of Dorothea (Dolly) Blunt.

He was a sugar merchant in London until 1783 when he took a post as a “writer” in India.

Blunt wrote to Franklin to seek aid for a “Mr. Luard” whose holdings in Grenada were jeopardized by the French capture of that island (1779).
